The best things about the school:

There were four things which were detailed over and over – high aspirations, the quality of our staff, friendships which the children enjoy here and an approachability on the part of the school. All these things combine to create what I see as a special school ethos where we acknowledge we are all seeking the same things – the best interests of the children.

Hey with Zion children enjoy coming to school and work hard while they are here. You will see elsewhere on the website what constitutes a typical day for our pupils, and how proud we are of our growing list of pupil achievements. Here, I want to share with you comments made by our parents:

Comments describing parents’ favourite things about Hey with Zion include:

We think we have a thriving school where the children work hard, play hard and achieve well.~ The result is that, according to government data, our most recent end of Year Six attainment levels were in the top 4% of the country; our Key Stage Two progress in the top 1% of the country and, according to Ofsted, the social development of our pupils is “outstanding”.

The balance is perfect- strong encouragement for the children to achieve without undue pressure or an over emphasis on grades- I believe the school want children to succeed and achieve their individual potential, and respect all forms of intelligence rather than pure academic.. I am also incredibly encouraged by the increase in extra curricular options for children… I also feel the school is very much committed to the holistic wellbeing of the children and genuinely care about each child in you care.”
