Coronavirus: will absence be authorised?
17 March 2020 (by admin)
The school must follow strict guidance about when and whether to authorise absences.
When absence will be authorised:
- if a child, although not sick, needs to self isolate as a precautionary measure if there is a risk to someone in the family with a severe medical condition.
- if a child or close family member is showing symptoms of a high temperature or a new, continuous cough.
When absence will not be authorised:
if a child is absent as a precautionary measure through fear of contracting the coronavirus without there being any special circumstance.
