Hey with Zion CofE / Methodist Primary School

About Us

Welcome to Hey with Zion’s school website. We are a voluntary controlled primary school with a joint Church of England and Methodist Foundation, enjoying links with our founder churches, St. John the Baptist Hey and Zion Methodist Church.

Our motto is simple: “to do the best we can” and it encapsulates all that we do. We are proud of every one of our pupils, from our Year Six pupils who can sit GCSEs while still at primary school to our Nursery pupils learning to count and to write their names, and we are proud of our ex-pupils, too, many of whom we have heard go on to achieve much success in the future. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school, we welcome children of all faiths, no faith and from different backgrounds and cultures, as well as children of differing talents and abilities.

Our vision is rooted in John 10 v 10, Jesus said "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full".

We are proud of our high academic standards, but we also understand well that there is so much more to a child’s education – the development of their personality and character, learning to respect others and themselves, and to expect the best of themselves and of each other.

Ofsted said "the school continues to go from strength to strength… (and that the pupils) flourish, both academically and in their personal development."

We know that does not happen by accident. It happens because everybody associated with our school – our pupils, our staff, our parents and our governors, shares that common goal – “to do the best we can” for our children.

Please take a look at our website and if you and your child would like to join our school, or have any questions at all, please feel free to give us a call.
